I must be on some train to be posting in my journal yet again when I haven't posted barely an iota in it beforehand.

------

Anime

Well I've been catching up on anime recently after a very short hiatus. Now I'm left in a quandry. Too many shows, not enough bum strength to sit on my computer chair for it all in one go.

Bleach has been a show I pick up and drop every so often now that I'm uptodate. But I'm about five episodes behind now. The problem is I've been getting into Outlaw Star. It's been over a decade since I last watched it and I really felt in the mood. Only problem is, I just got myself onto yet another series. The first episode was a hook. The anime is called Kyou Kara Maou! I've checked how many episode there are and wowza! There's a lot.

It sucks being in England. Anime on TV is so hard to come buy and the DVD's are also very hard to find. In fact there aren't any for the ones I'm currently watching. If there was I would have put them on my rental list. Sadly though I have to endure a rather uncomforatble seat to watch them by. Again, I say England sucks for anime on television.

Star Trek

Once again I have forgottent to post in my Journal. I really need to keep a reminder somewhere.
I guess I had actually put something in here that qualifies as more then a random sentence or two. But what? Ah I know.

The Upcoming Star Trek movie.
I am so psyched for this movie! Which hasn't happened for a while. I think my movie experiences have staled a little. But I digress. I'm going to see this movie next Thursday. The original series was always my favourite of the Star Trek shows. Nothing like a bit of classic character dynamisim of the three mains. Namely Kirk, Spock and Bones.
(However my actual favourite characters were Scotty and Chekov. I know a strange combo to be sure. But I'm like that anyway. I tend to go for the lesser characters. It's apparantly a built-in condition for me.)
The trio were the driving force of TOS and that made the show involving and it is also there where everything began. Got to have a special place for the founder!

Despite how much I enjoyed TOS I'm not going to hold it against this movie. In fact the fact they are taking a modern approach is refreshing. I've seen the previews and I REALLY like the way it looks. I'm not one of those hardcore lot that considers any remake as blasphemous. It's about time TOS got taken from the shelf and dusted off. The consequential series that followed had a tendency to deteriorate in quality. It seemed the started to forget why Star Trek was great in the first place. Enterprise in particular lost the plot. No catchty theme tune. One note characters. Obligatory "hotty". And the humour all but died. It was a clone too far. Ooops sorry, that's Star Wars!

My second favourite of the Star Trek shows WASN'T The Next Generation but rather Deep Space Nine. It took a leap of faith and gave us one of the most complex of them. I loved the political subterfuge and static placing. It made the writer's work that much harder to come up with intriguing plots and gave us long running arcs! It also had some of my fav all-time Star Trek Characters. Dr Bashir, Miles O'Brien, Quark, Odo, Garak and whom I consider the best Commander of all, one Benjamin Sisko!
Most over people would pick TNG as the best of second best series, but I couldn't quite enjoy it as much. It was still great in it's own right but it lacked pulling power for me. I also actually enjoyed Voyager too. It's probably the easiest one to just pop on the TV. Excusing Neelix that is.

Well I think this consitutes a PROPER entry. Good day.
